Muhlenberg Sheriff's Dept. Welcomes New Deputy

muhlL sheriff 300HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (7/12/13) – The Muhlenberg Sheriff's Department is pleased to announce the addition of Muhlenberg native, Deputy Alex Piper.

Piper has roots that run deep in the county.

"I am a 1995 graduate of Muhlenberg High School, and I graduated July 12th, 2013, receiving my training in criminal justice in Richmond, KY,” said Piper. “For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a police officer. Now I've been given the chance to work for our Sheriff's Office. I can remember when I was in high school, I was given an assignment and my paper was about how much I wanted to someday be in law enforcement.”

"As I got older, I guess it was like one of those dreams you just never pursue, but my wife has been great, and Sheriff McGehee has given me the chance to pursue a service to the public that I really love doing." Deputy Piper concluded.

SurfKY News would like to welcome Deputy Piper to a law enforcement agency that has made a major impact on the county as a whole.
