MUHLENBERG COUNTY, KY - James Ferrell Jernigan, 79 of Powderly, KY died Monday morning August 26, 2013 at 8:20 a.m. in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital of Greenville, KY after a short illness. He was born December 21, 1933 in Muhlenberg County the son of the late Robert Gilbert Jernigan and Mary Francis Miller Jernigan. He was a member of Central City Church of Christ and was an Air Force Veteran serving in Puerto Rico and he delivered the Courier Journal Paper for 25 years . He played lead guitar and sang lead vocals for a touring band called Jim Jernigan and the Legends.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon August 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from Gary’s Funeral Home Greenville, KY by Mr. Bob Edlin with burial to follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery Powderly, KY
