SACRAMENTO, Ky. – J R Dossett, 89, of Sacramento, Ky. passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Riverside Manor Health Care Center in Calhoun. J R Dossett was born March 7, 1925 in Sacramento, Ky. to the late Ovid and Lillian Miller Dossett, was a 1943 Graduate of Sacramento High School, and was married to the former Nora Virginia Gross on January 31, 1948. J R retired from Peabody Coal Company, was a member of the Methodist Faith, and a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a UMWA member, an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan, and loved to go bass fishing.

In addition to his parents, J R was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Earl Dossett and Joe Darrell "Joey" Dossett.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Nora Gross Dossett; several cousins; many friends; and his cat, Tuffy.

Private family services and burial will be at Sacramento Methodist Cemetery at a later date. There will be no public visitation. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling funeral arrangements for J R's family.

The J R Dossett family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Sacramento Methodist Cemetery Fund; C/O Kathy Gish; Sacramento Deposit Bank; P.O. Box 228; Sacramento, Ky. 42372. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
