MUHLENBERG COUNTY, KY - Owilda Lou "Wootie" Loney, 86, of Graham, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at 3:00AM at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Mrs. Loney was born March 3, 1925 in Muhlenberg County. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Graham Presbyterian Church for over 60 years and was involved in all church activities. She was a member of the Muhlenberg County Homemakers. As a true homemaker, she loved to cook and sew for her family. She enjoyed hand crafts, traveling with her husband, horseback riding trips with friends, and gospel singing. She will be remembered as a gentle, kind, patient and loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Buck" Loney. Buck and Wootie were married for 55 years before he passed in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Essie Hammonds; brother, Tom Hammond; and sisters Mary Jenkins, Sanna Snider, and Helen Martin.
She was a loving mother to her surviving children: daughters Bonnie (Tommy) Warman of Beechmont, Linda (Alan) Willis of White Plains, and Connie (Bill) Rosser of Phoenix, AZ; and son Bill (Kathy) Loney of Henderson. She adored and nurtured 10 grandchildren: Sheila (Earl) Passwater, Elisa (Quentin) Oldham, Teresa (Charles) Berry, Kim (Tim) Staples, Kris (Cindy) Rosser, Kelly (Ryan) Gartland, Katlin Rosser, Kaleb Warman, Joe Ryan Loney, and Billy Loney; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchidlren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 2:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. George Thompson officiating, assisted by Rev. Tim Adcock.
