Brooksie Irene Wells Rice, 96 of Greenville, KY

riceGREENVILLE, KY - Brooksie Irene Wells Rice, 96 of Greenville, KY died Friday afternoon December 2, 2011 at 2:35 p.m. at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville, KY after a short illness.  Brooksie was born September 18, 1915 in Weir, KY the daughter of Ervin Wells and Cilia Johnson Wells.  She was a member of Greens Chapel General Baptist Church of Greenville, KY and she worked at Lermans Department Store in Greenville, KY for 35 ½ years.

Brooksie was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 70 years William Jesse “Bill” Rice on September 10, 2005, and brother Ellis Junior Wells.

She is survived by her son William Donald (Sue) Rice of Greenville, KY; Sister Ruby Keaster of Elizabethtown, KY; 2 grandsons Timothy Owen Rice of Greenville, KY; Dwight Alan (Robin) Rice of Greenville, KY; 5 great-grandchildren Leslye (Craig) Patton, Derek (Natsha) Rice, Holly (John) Cobb, Michael Rice, Nathan Rice; 3 great-great-grandchildren Bryson Rice,  Alyvia Cobb,  Keydon Cobb.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday afternoon December 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY.  Services will be conducted by Rev. Walter Evitts and assisted by Rev. Jeremy Teague with burial to follow in Greens Chapel Cemetery in Greenville, KY.

Friend may call on Sunday afternoon December 4, 2011 from 5:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY and after 9:00 a.m. on Monday until the Funeral time.  Online condolences to the family can be made at www.garysfuneralhome.net.
