5sunsetCENTRAL CITY, KY - Carrol Aaron Nelson, 71, of Central City, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

Mr. Nelson was born August 4, 1940 in Muhlenberg County. He was retired from J.C. Penney in Madisonville, and was a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Vernon Lee Nelson and Walton Nelson.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Nelson; son Rodney (Gail) Nelson of Central City; daughter Cheryl (Kevin) Jenks of Franklin, TN; and grandchildren Rachel, Stewart, Alicia, and Kelsey.

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Gene Garner officiating, assisted by Rev. Leroy Rearden. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday after 4:30PM at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or Gideons International. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
