A.P. Cornette, 73 of Greenville, KY

 

cornetteGREENVILLE, KY - A.P. Cornette, 73 of Greenville, KY passed away suddenly on January 10, 2012 at 10:30 p.m. at his home.  Junior was born December 10, 1938 in Muhlenberg County the son of Arthur Peyton Cornette Sr. and Bessie Marie Kelly Cornette.  He was a member of Lead Hill United Methodist Church in Weir, KY where he was treasurer for 39 years, Sunday school teacher for 30 years, and pianist and organist for 47 years. Junior was a member of Pond Creek Masonic lodge and he retired from Old National Bank in Greenville in 1999 as Senior Vice President after 41 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother George Hilton Sr. in 1990.

Junior is survived by his beloved sweet heart of 51 years, Daisy Boggess of Greenville, KY; 3 nephews Sonny (Teresa) Hilton of Hopkinsville, KY, Jeff Hilton of Hopkinsville, KY, & Kelly Hilton of Nashville, TN; 2 nieces Marilyn (Chris) Sanders of Hopkinsville, KY & Carolyn Hilton of Hopkinsville, KY; 2 great-nephews Matt (Jennifer) Hilton and Kaleb Hilton; 2 great-nieces Tara Hilton and Kylee Spurr; 2 great-great-nephews Peyton Hilton and Jackson Hilton.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Franklin, Terry Dukes, Jerry Cornette, Paul Vincent, Howard Taylor, and Tommy Nelson.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon January 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from Lead Hill United Methodist Church in Weir, KY by Rev. Harold D. Coomer, Rev. Billy Rabey ,Rev. Paul  Frederick with burial to follow in Cherry Grove Cemetery Weir, KY.

Friends may call Friday January 13, 2012 from 5:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home Greenville, KY  and after 12:00 p.m. noon Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Lead Hill United Methodist Church Weir, KY until Funeral time.
