Bertha Elizabeth Strode, 86, of Central City

 

CENTRAL CITY, KY - Bertha Elizabeth Strode, 86, of Central City, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Owensboro Medical Health System.

She was born in Muhlenberg Co. Ky. On November 28, 1925, retired from General Electric in Owensboro and attended Green River Chapel General Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Norris Teague, Second husband, Manuel True Strode, Sons, Bobby Joe Teague, William Roger Teague , Jerry Lee Teague, granddaughter, Cassandre Sund, Great Grandson, Chad Adler and a brother, Joseph P. House.

Survivors include Sons, Gerald Thomas(Belinda)Teague, David Wayne(Rebecca)Strode & Manuel Keith Strode all of Central City, Step Sons, Don(Doris)Strode & Bob(Kay)Strode both of Maysfield. Daughters, Rebecca Lynn Baggett,, Beverly Gail(Rick)Byars, Trudy Jo(Jimmy)Moore & Karen Sue(Ryan)Bingham all of Central City, Step Daughters, Norma(Wes)England of Cincinnati,OH, Juanita Poe, Kay(David)Curtis & Carolyn Helton all of the Maysfield area, & Betty(Sam)Cooper of Winchester, OH., fifty plus grandchildren, several great & great great grandchildren, a brother, William P. House of Louisville & a sister, Betty Jane Crowe of Jacksonville, FL.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Tucker Funral Home in Central City conducted by Rev. Jewell Martin and Rev. Roger Banks with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Tuesday and after 8:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
