Charles Milton Herald, 80, of Oakland

BOWLING GREEN, KY - Charles Milton Herald, 80, of Oakland, passed away Saturday at his residence. The Warren County native was born June 11, 1932, a son of the late Frank and Lucille Duckett Herald and was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Carolyn Herald.

Mr. Herald worked in production for Pet Milk Company, retiring after 23 years of service. He was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a farmer and a member of Martinsville Baptist Church. He was also a member of Modern Woodman of the World, the DAV and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Hollis Meeks Herald of Oakland; two sons, Greg Herald and his friend, Glenda of Oakland and Pat Herald and his wife, Roxanna of Oakland; one brother, Bobby Joe Herald and his wife, Wanda of Oakland; four grandchildren, Hunter Herald and his fiancé, Ashley, Hollie Herald and her friend, Blake, Katelyn Bunch and Nathan Bunch; two nieces, Theresa Crabtree and her husband, Michael, Carla Hill and her husband, Alan; one nephew, Joe Herald and his wife, Donnetta; four great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Herald will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday and again from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Martinsville Cemetery Fund
