James E. Cosby, Jr., age 77, of Bowling Green, KY

BOWLING GREEN, KY - James E. Cosby, Jr., age 77, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012, at Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

James served as Deacon, President, founder of Adult Choir andmember of the Brotherhood at Eleventh Street Baptist Church. The class of 1953 State Street High School graduate was a former employee of Western KY University, L & N Railroad and Bowling Green City School (McNeil). James loved to cook, smoking his pipes and loved watch Nokie, his dog. He was always a kid at heart when visiting Disney World. James loved singing. He performed with the Mighty Sensations, Upper Community Choir, Silver Tones and Golden Trumpeters.

James was preceded in death by his daughter, Lillian Cosby; parents, James E. Cosby Sr and Elizabeth Gumm Cosby; sisters, Anna Elizabeth Cosby, Evelyn Jean Cosby, Betty Cosby and Joan Cosby Rodgers; brother, Herman Pete Cosby; and grandparents, Birdie Grider, Walter Gumm and Rainey Cosby. .

James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lillian "Evelyn" Marshall Cosby of Bowling Green, KY; three daughters, Darlene (Glenn) Collins, Janet (James "Brother") Waller and LaDonna (Damon) Byrd, all of Bowling Green, KY; three sisters, Waldean Pratt, Louise Cosby and Charlene (James) Gamble, all of Bowling Green, KY; two brothers, Robert (Geneva) Cosby, Bowling Green, Ky and Charles (Peggy) Cosby, Franklin, KY; grandchildren, Glenn (Crystal) Schuyler, Candace (Hovie), Cameron, Chase, Cierra, Emaje, Arcola, Jerrita, Shelondale Wallace (Simon); great grandchildren, Kel'maunie, Reese, Julian, Michael, Britton, Jovian, Jamale, Anastasia, Brooklyn, Lauren, DaVonna, Miles and Maledm; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be on November 7 from 04:00PM - 08:00PM at Eleventh Street Baptist Church with Life Celebration on November 8 at 12:00PM.
