A native of Centralia, IL he was the son of the late Virginia Dare Jackson Hartwell and his step-father the late Jim “Zeeke” Hartwell. Larry was a Christian, Army veteran, and retired from General Motors Company after 30 years of service. He loved spending time at the lake boating and camping with family and friends. He was a devoted father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his brother Charles “Charlie” Terry and sister Sue Terry Barton.
Larry is survived by his son, Ryan Terry (Dena) of Bowling Green, KY; daughter, Christina “Tina” Harrell (Matt) of Oakland, KY; step-son, David Essenpreis (Kayren) of Rockfield, KY; step-daughter, Angela “Angie” Essenpreis of Rockfield, KY; seven grandchildren, Melissa Martin, Laura Suttle, Kelsey Pennington, Madison Terry, Preston, David, and Natalie Harrell; one great grandchild, Ella Rose Martin; several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Burial will follow in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will begin Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the memorial service time at 1:00 p.m.
Arrangements are being handled by J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
