BOWLING GREEN, KY - Evelyn Adams Ray, age 86 of Bowling Green, KY went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
A native of Simpson Co., KY. she was the daughter of the late Nevil Thurmond and Mabel Robbins Thurmond. She was preceded in death by her first husband Cecil Adams and second husband Clifford Ray.
Evelyn is survived by her son, David Adams (Janice) of Lake Zurich, IL; daughter, Marilyn Darke (Hank) of Clarksville, TN; step-son, Greg Ray of Indiana; step-daughter, Danita Ray of Illinois; 3 grandchildren, Christine Adams, Amy Dawson and Nathan Darke; 4 great grandchildren, Maggie and Will Dawson, Katelyn Alverson and Sabrina Darke.
Evelyn was a graduate of Bowling Green Business University and worked as a claims representative at the Social Security Administration. She was a very active member of the First Christian Church and volunteered at the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 12 Noon at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will begin Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at 12 Noon.
Arrangements are entrusted to J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
