BOWLING GREEN, KY - Marjorie Hall Cowherd, 94, of Bowling Green, KY passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Cowherd was born June 4, 1918 in Hopkinsville, a daughter of the late James Darnell Hall and Fay Petrie Hall. Mrs. Cowherd was preceded in death by her husband William A. Cowherd, Jr. and a son William Darnell Cowherd.
Mrs. Cowherd was a homemaker and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from Western State College. Mrs. Cowherd was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, a former member of Fairview Methodist Church in Todd county, a member of Chapter D P.E.O, Larths Literary Club and Home Economics Club.
Memorial Services for Mrs. Cowherd will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 at Broadway United Methodist Church with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cowherd is survived by two daughters Susan Cowherd Cook, Ann Cowherd Fugardi and her husband Martin, one sister Suzanne Hall Foster, one brother Dr. William Petrie Hall and his wife Jane, four grandchildren, Joseph A. Cook III and his wife Katy, Anne Cook Allen and her husband Jody, Elizabeth Cook Vaughan and her husband Lee, Leslie Haithcoat Perkins and her husband Rob, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Alicia Baxter, Elizabeth Turner, and Melissa Conley for their loving care. A special thanks to the staff at Chandler Park Assisted Living for their kindness.
