Harold Smith, 84, of Bowling Green, KY

BOWLING GREEN, KY - Harold Smith, 84, of Bowling Green, KY passed away, Thursday, December 13, 2012 at his home.

The Detroit, Michigan native was born April 15, 1928 a son of the late William Finley Smith and Eunice Katherine Perkins Smith. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph C. Smith, William Finley Smith, II, and one sister, Marguerite Hardison.

Mr. Smith earned his Bachelor's Degree from Bowling Green Business University and was Director of Accounts and Budgetary Control at Western Kentucky University for 20 years.

Mr. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church for 50 years, a Kentucky Colonel, Member of American Legion Post #23, avid WKU Hilltopper Fan of football, basketball, and women's basketball. Mr. Smith loved camping, boating and spending time with his family.

Funeral Services for Mr. Smith will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Margaret Georgiana Smith of Bowling Green, one daughter, Sharon Lynn Barnett (John) , one son, Roger Allen Smith (Jolene), one sister, Daisy L. Smith , six grandchildren; Angela Barrick (Jake), Keith Barnett (Tabitha), Scott Barnett , Jessica Arms (Ryan), Richard Smith (Lauren), Brandon Smith (Rebecca), six great grandchildren, two sister-in-laws, and several nieces and nephews.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Television Ministry at First Baptist Church of Bowling Green.
