BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Isaiah (Ike) Harris, Jr., 56 of Bowling Green, KY and a native of Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, in Bowling Green, KY.
Born Tuesday, October 2, 1956 in Saint Louis, Missouri, Isaiah was the son of the late Isaiah Harris, Sr and is survived by his mother Earline Covington (Melvin) Gray of Saint Louis, Missouri. Isaiah was preceded in death by his grandparents; Catherine and Elver Covington and Lorraine and Isaiah Harris; his brothers; Michael , Ernest and Marvin.
Isaiah was a 1974 Graduate of Vashon High School in Saint Louis, Missouri. Isaiah retired in 2000 from General Motors Corvette Plant after 30 years of service. He enjoyed playing softball with GM-employees for many years. He found a love for fishing and gardening; and just spending many hours enjoying the outdoors. Isaiah was an avid Saint Louis Sports fan; football, baseball. Ike loved to hang out with his friends. Ike loved to listen to Blues music. Isaiah was the eldest of 11 children. Isaiah sponsored and mentored many in the NA-program and enjoyed doing public service work. Isaiah served in the United States Marine Corps. Isaiah was a member of Lively Stone Church South.
Isaiah leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Reatha Harris of Bowling Green, Kentucky; children, Demetria Johnson of Portugal, Jasmine Grundie of Milwaukee, WI , Isaiah Harris IV of Atlanta, Georgia and O'Leatha Harris of Bowling Green, KY; grandchild, A'niya; brothers, Charles Harris, Sr. of Saint Louis, MO, Kenneth (Darlene) Harris of Saint Louis, MO and Marlon (Shunte) Gray of Saint Louis, MO; sisters, Sheila Harris of Saint Louis, MO and Jacqueline (Barry) Curtis of Saint Louis, MO; 3 nieces, 10 nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be January 15 from 04:00PM - 08:00PM at Burnam & Son Mortuary, Inc. with funeral service on January 16 at 12:00PM at Our Lord's Temple.
