BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Alice Ford Berkley Blair, 90, of Bowling Green, KY passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10:50 am at her residence.
She was born September 24, 1922 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Elmer Leroy Ford Sr. and Myrtle Presley Ford. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Arthur Irwin Berkley; two brothers Elmer Leroy Ford Jr. and Harold Leroy Ford; a son Lloyd Arthur Berkley; daughter Judy Garnet Berkley Barton; grandson: J. Herbert Blair Vance.
Alice worked at Cutler Hammer and the KY Colonel Restaurant. She was an Amateur Radio Net Operator with numerous awards as well as a former member of Bowling Green Warren County Rescue Squad. She was a longtime member of Glendale Baptist Church where she taught The Compassion Sunday School Class. She had a love for the outdoors and was an avid bird watcher.
Alice is survived by her husband of 54 years: William Leroy Blair. A daughter Pamela Blair Wolfe and husband Duane of Bowling Green. Four sons: William N. “Bill” Berkley of Bowling Green, John David Berkley and wife Jo Ann of Irving, Texas, Charles “Mickey” Berkley and wife Dianna of Bowling Green, Harold Leroy “Hal” Blair and wife Donna of Bowling Green. 30 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel. Funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Broadway Chapel with burial in the Mt. Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel.
