BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Richard A. Black, 81, of Bowling Green, KY passed away Tuesday February 26, 2013 at The Medical Center at 1:32 p.m. Richard was a native of Chicago, Illinois and was born November 30, 1931. He was preceded in death by his wives Maryon Black and Rollaine Black, also his parents Robert Black and Hilda Green Fuhrman, and one step-son Donald DeSlover.
Richard was a 31 year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, veteran U. S. Navy, member of the American Legion #854 and Retired Chicago Police Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and dearly loved his pets.
He is survived by his daughter Dr. Lisa Ann Black, Colonel U. S. Army Medical Corps of Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, one son William Michael Black of DeKalb, Illinois, one step-son Rick DeSlover of Greenbrier, TN, two sisters Patricia and Sandra, and two step grand-daughters.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel with visitation Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bowling Green Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
