BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Juanita and Mike Tunks, mother and son, entered into eternal rest within three hours of one another on March 24, 2013.
Juanita was a daughter of the late Beckham and Geraldine Miller Galloway and was a member of the Barren River Baptist Church. Mike was a son of the late Henry and Juanita Galloway Tunks and attended the Hillvue Heights Church.
Juanita was a housewife, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. Mike was retired from the CSX railroad, a member of the B.G. Shrine Club, Bowling Green Masonic Lodge No. 73, the ROJ Pennyrile Court No. 171 (Jesters of Western KY) and the Bowling Green Shrine clowns. He was a former Warren County constable and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
Mike is survived by a daughter, Robin Tunks Lindsey, and a granddaughter, Allie Lindsey. Other survivors include three sons/brothers, Joe Tunks (Joy) of Mammoth Cave, and Alan Tunks (Mary) and Bruce Tunks (Connie), all of Bowling Green. Juanita has one brother, David Galloway of Bowling Green, and a sister, Rosemary Faulkenburg of Goodyear, Ariz. There are nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel, with burial in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel. Masonic services for Mike will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Broadway Chapel.
