Ellen Turko Blessing, 90, of Bowling Green, KY

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Ellen Turko Blessing, 90, of Bowling Green, KY entered into rest Saturday, April 6, 2013.
 
She was born September 5, 1922 in Hackensack, New Jersey to the late Harry and Pauline Barna Turko. She spent a significant portion of her life raising her family in New Jersey and Huntsville, Alabama before living out her final years in Bowling Green, KY. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years: Frederick Charles Blessing, five brothers, and two sisters.
 
She is survived by her son: Charles Blessing (Ruth) of Vernon Valley, New Jersey; four daughters: Diane Blessing (Edmund) of Fairplay, Colorado, Dawn G. Blessing (Holly) of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Joy Graham (Kerry) of Bowling Green, KY, and Paula Youngblood (Robert) of Ashville, North Carolina; seven grandchildren: Charles Blessing (Kelly), Keith Blessing (Jen), Tyler Graham (Hannah), Holly Graham, Alexander Youngblood, Annie Turri (Justin), and Greg Hastain; six great-grandchildren: K J and Sullivan Blessing, Sophia Turri, Liam Blessing, and Jack and James Stewart.
 
Ellen attended Broadway United Methodist Church in Bowling Green, KY and was a member of the Red Hat Society. In earlier years she was a member of Valley United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Alabama where she was an active choir member. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
 
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Valley United Methodist Church at 1410 Drake Ave. SE, Huntsville, AL 35802 or to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.ALZ.org

Arrangements entrusted to J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
