BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Loberta Hanes Hightower, age 92 of Bowling Green, KY passed away Tuesday, April 30 at 9:00 p.m. surrounded by her family at Rosewood Health Care Center.
She was born September 29, 1920 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late Willie and Vadie Houser Hanes. She was the widow of Clint Hightower. She is also preceded in death by three brothers; Verlin, Garnet and Jr. Hanes. Three sisters; Corine Meador, Lilly Bell Harper and Gertrude Hanes. A son-in-law; John W. Whittaker. She worked in Food Services at Holley Carb./Colt Industries. She was Baptist.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 Thursday and after 9 am Friday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral service will be 11:30 am Friday at the Lovers Lane Chapel, with burial to follow in the Bowling Green Gardens.
Survivors include her daughters; Patty Whittaker and Dorothy Pendleton and husband James both of Bowling Green. Her son Butch Hightower and Companion Diane of Scottsville, KY. Sister; Deamer Lindsey and a brother Oble Hanes and wife Agnes both of Bowling Green. Her grandchildren; Jimmy Pendleton, Johnna Crabtree, Tommy Whittaker, Katina McCoy and Tammy Perkins. Great grandchildren, Nathan, Travis, Trent, Trevor, Trinity, Tristan, Holly, Kody, Keyton, Conner, Kolton, and Gracie. Great great grandchildren; Ethan, Max, Emma, Benjamin, Haydon, Zoey and Landon. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Everyone that knew her loved her. She fought all the way to end and was always trying to uplift everyone around her, Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
