BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Charlotte Dale (Cha) White, 71, of Bowling Green (Drake) passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 12:03 p.m. at Greenview Regional Hospital.
She fought a brave battle. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted family and went peacefully. Charlotte was born in Boyce, Kentucky on July 29, 1941 to the late Eldon and Geneva Smith White. She was also preceded in death by her sister Bonnie Miller and brother Roger (Sonny) White. Charlotte retired from the State Highway Department after 48 years where she was the Administrative Specialist. She was a longtime member and Sunday School Teacher at Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and loved her faithful cat Tuxey and her birds. She raised lots of children at home and work even though she had no children of her own. Cha as she was known, will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her brothers: Marshall White and wife Linda of Alvaton and LaRoy (Smittie) White and wife Patty of Plano; sisters: Twyla Baker and husband Wayne of Drake and Alicia White of Drake; two uncles: J.C. White and wife Evona and Josie White and wife Shirley both of Alvaton; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews that she called her grandchildren. She is also survived by several cousins.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m until 8 p.m. Friday, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Association in Charlotte’s name.
