BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Robert C. (Bob) Morrison Jr., 79, of Bowling Green, KY passed away June 14, 2013, at 10:50 a.m. at Greenwood Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born in Barren County on July 7, 1933, to the late Robert C. Morrison Sr. and Kimbel B. Morrison.
He was a member of Three Springs Baptist Church, which he loved so very much. He served 23 years in the U.S. Navy, and upon retiring he was appointed to serve as head of security for the Select Committee on Assassinations, which investigated the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.
Mr. Morrison is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jo Jean Tucker Morrison; two stepchildren, Jimmy Follin and wife Darlene and Nancy Bryant Holland, all of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Billy Joe Follin and wife Missy of Woodburn, Jamie Rector and husband Bobby of Bowling Green and Randy Joe Sears and Katie of Bowling Green; four great-grandchildren, Macy Follin, Tyler Rector, Briley Sears and Shelby Gaines; two nephews, David E. Rabold and wife Charlene and Bobby Rabold and wife Lisa; and one niece, Kim Rabold Ferguson and husband Lloyd. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Rabold, and a brother-in-law, David Rabold.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral service is at 10 a.m. at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with burial at Fairview Cemetery No. 1.
