BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - James E. Russell, 78, of Alvaton passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at his residence.
James was born January 8, 1935 in Warren County and was preceded in death by his parents: Louie Warner Russell and Ruth Hazel Wood Russell and one sister: Joyce Edwards.
James was a retired teacher from Allen Co.-Scottsville Vocational School and a member of Glendale Baptist Church. He was an active sportsman, a master carpenter and farmer.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Rosemary Osborne Russell, one son James William “Billy” Russell of Alvaton, four daughters Leeanne Brown (Jim) of Alvaton, Claire Russell Injeian and Dr. Judy Ruth Russell both of Bowling Green, and Dr. Patricia Rose Walters of Springhill, TN, seven grandchildren Katy Martin, Jay Brown, Audrey Brown, Emily Injeian, Alison Itzkowitz, Jonathan Walters and Samuel Walters, and two great grandchildren Alex and Nate Martin, also several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Friday June 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel, with visitation Thursday 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
