BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Judith Ann Thornton, 74, of Bowling Green, Ky passed away Sunday June 30, 2013 at Greenview Hospital at 8:08 a.m.
Judy was born in Bay City, Michigan on November 22, 1938. She was preceded in death by her husband Raleigh Thornton, daughter Anita Richey, daughter-in-law Judy Thornton and her parents William and Mae Essex Aspin.
Judy was a homemaker and attended Hillvue Heights Church. She was an avid gardener and loved canning vegetables in the summer, she also loved to travel and enjoyed social networking.
She is survived by four sons: Tim Thornton (Kathy) and Rod Thornton (Angela) both of Bowling Green, Daniel Thornton of Auburn, Ky, Eddie Thornton (Jenny) of Scottsville, Ky and one daughter: Deborah Wood (Galen) of Lewisburg, Ky. Also four brothers: Bill Aspin (Diane) of Munger, MI, Bob Aspin of Beaverton, MI, Gary and Dave Aspin (Lucy) both of Bowling Green, sixteen grandchildren, eight great grand-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 4 p.m. at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel with visitation on Wednesday 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Judy chose to be cremated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
