Harold (Tommy) Shores, 64, of Bowling Green, Ky

obit8BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Harold (Tommy) Shores, 64, of Bowling Green passed away at 7:36 PM, Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his residence. The Allen County, Kentucky native was born May 3, 1949, a son of the late Harold and Nova Hunt Shores. He is preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Shores Harris. Tommy participated in Meals, Inc., was an active member of Broadway United Methodist Church where he served on the Welcome Team. He was a longtime volunteer for The Simpson County Special Olympics, a member of the Woodburn Fire Department Board of Directors, an active member of the Woodburn Cemetery Board, a Franklin-Simpson Band Booster for 10 years and an avid British car enthusiast. He was a graduate of Warren County High School and was a sales associate for Weller Truck Parts.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Brenda Bush Shores; two sons, Jason Shores and his wife, Nicole of Cave City, Kentucky and Matthew Shores and his wife, Christi of Bowling Green; one sister, Janie Taylor and her husband, Gary of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Michael and Cameron Shores of Cave City and Parker Shores of Bowling Green; numerous special nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM Monday, July 8, 2013 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitations are scheduled for Saturday, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM; Sunday, from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM; Monday, from 12:00 PM until the service at 1:00 PM all at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, Meals, Inc. or Woodburn Cemetery Fund.
