OWENSBORO, Ky. - James C. (J.C.) Reeves, 90, of Owensboro, KY passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Western KY Veterans Center in Hanson, KY. He was born April 20, 1923 in Daviess County, KY to the late Ira and Lydia Reeves. He was a graduate of Owensboro High School. J.C. was a farmer and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a lifetime member of the D.A.V., AmVets and American Legion and a past commander of the D.A.V. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and was a KY Colonel. He was preceded in death by his companion, Mary Sharp.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Ralph Rednour of Owensboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Wimsatt and Tawnya Duncan; great grandchildren, Amanda Duncan, Kaela Wimsatt and Lee Wimsatt; a sister, Mary Beck of St. Louis, MO; and a brother, Paul Reeves of Calhoun, KY.
Services are 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial with military honors is in Station Baptist Cemetery in Sacramento, KY. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
