BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Carol M. Lockhart, 83, of Bowling Green, KY passed away Thursday September 12, 2013 at Christian Health Center at 7:15 a.m.
Carol was born February 3, 1930 in Allen County. She was preceded in death by her son: Robin Lockhart; parents: Rev. Sidney B. Moore and Ollie Holder Moore; and three sisters: Gypsy Blair Moore, Trilby Hamner, and June Bradley.
Carol was a retired English teacher for 35 years from Western KY University, and member of First Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class. She graduated from Bowling Green High School and Western KY University with a degree from George Peabody College. She was avid bridge player and loved crossword puzzles. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and many, many friends.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years: Campbell Lockhart; two daughters: Holly Lockhart and Linda Holsclaw (David) both of Bowling Green; three grandchildren: Lauren and Lee Rector both of Bowling Green; and Tyler Lockhart of Orlando, Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home and again Monday from 9 a.m. until service time. Cremation was chosen by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
