BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Robert 'Bob' Martin, 77, of Bowling Green, Ky passed away, Wednesday at Hospice of Southern Ky. The Middlesboro, Ky native was born September 13, 1936 a son of the late Richard Martin and Earle Buchanon Martin. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson; Alex Diaz, mother-in-law; Anna Conn and father-in-law; John Sabo.
Mr. Martin was a graduate of Bowling Green Business College and retired from Bowling Green Vocational School, and served as an Airman with the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Martin was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class and served as a greeter and communion server. He was a member of the Polar Bear Club, collector and trader of antiques, a member of the Vo-Tech Lunch Bunch and Hardees Good Old Boys.
Bobby was a gentle blue eyed soul who was loved and admired by all he met.
Memorial Services for Mr. Martin will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Broadway United Methodist Church. Mr. Martin's final resting place will be in Middlesboro, Ky.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife Elona Sabo 'Bob's Sunshine' of Bowling Green, Ky, two sons: Robert Martin of Bowling Green, Ky, Steven Martin of Bowling Green, Ky, a special son; Shawn Salmans of Englewood, FL, two daughters; Candace Diaz of Round Rock, TX, Karole Brandon of Bowling Green, Ky, one special daughter; Gina Gullo of Paducah, Ky and Bob's special companion Misha, one brother; Richard Martin of Reidsville, NC, two sisters; Judith Hatcher of Houston, TX, Frances Strickler of Franklin, Ky, four grandchildren; Andrea Kinser of Bowling Green, Ky, Mardy Diaz of Dallas, TX, Christian Brandon of Bowling Green, Ky, and Lauren Brandon of Bowling Green, Ky.
The family has requested no flowers. Please do a kindness and greet others as Bob did. Memorial Contributions may take the form of donations to Broadway United Methodist Church Children's Ministries, Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society or Hospice of Southern Ky.
