BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Nancy Corinne Hale Pennington, 71, of Bowling Green, Ky passed away Dec. 26, 2013, at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Avery Hale and Tommie Smith Hale. Nancy was a very family oriented woman who loved her family dearly. She also enjoyed bowling and other family activities.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ernest J. 'Penn' Pennington of Bowling Green, and four children, George D. Pennington and wife Lori of Scottsville, Vinetta Pennington and Matt Murphy of Bowling Green, Ernest J. 'E.J.' Pennington II and wife Tammy of Bowling Green and Elissa Moore and husband Mike of Bowling Green. Other survivors include five sisters, Dorothy Geralds Watson and husband Ray, Jane Adams and husband Raymond, Carolyn Adams and husband Billy, all of Tompkinsville, Lois Penders Upton of Bowling Green and Christine Thornton of Franklin; a brother, John Hale of Tompkinsville; 13 grandchildren, Chuck, Jamie, Hollie, Cain, Dylan, Seth, Riley, Rhayna, Ava, Wayne, Amy, Sara and Katie; five great-grandchildren, Alex, Lexi, Kylie, Andrew and Adam; many nieces and nephews; and two granddogs, Tinley and Tinka.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Pennington Smith, four brothers and one sister.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at J.C. Kirby & Son, Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral is at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be at Bowling Green Gardens.
