Robert Gene McVay, 75 of Princeton

PRINCETON, KY - Robert Gene McVay, 75 of Princeton, passed away on Monday, April 2 at his home.

He was born in Webster County on April 9, 1936 to Robert and Lillian McVay.

Gene was a coal miner and worked for Zigler Coal Co for many years.

Gene and Catherine Robinson were married on July 23, 1960 in Shawneetown.

and have lived at Shady Grove for many years.

Gene enjoyed gardening, fishing his tractors and the country life.

He is survived by his wife Catherine of Shady Grove, a daughter and son in law Lillian and Paul Martin of Providence, and three sons Johnny and wife Dianne, Jesse and wife Tracey of Diamond and David and wife Jannifer of Shady Grove; One brother James McVay of Lisman and two sisters Donna Engler and Cleda Stone both of Providence; 5 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 5 at 1 PM at Jones & Erdman in Providence with Bro. Jimmy Sigler officiating. Interment will be in Green Grove Cemetery. Visitation is on Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 PM and on Thursday from 9 AM to service time at the funeral home.
