CENTRAL CITY, KY (7/30/12) – At around 2:00 on Sunday, August 12, Muhlenberg Central Dispatch alerted local officials that a phone call had been received regarding a body located in the Green River.
SurfKY News was on the scene at the River Road Ramp in Central City, just down from the Correctional Complex, as the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department, Central City Fire and Rescue, Muhlenberg Ambulance Service and other officials prepared to go down river to investigate the report.
At the time, Sheriff’s officials on the scene stated that they were not sure who reported the body. As the search began, Kentucky State Police arrived on scene, as well as Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.
A short while later, officials returned to the dock with the body.
Sheriff’s Office officials spoke with reporters stating that at the time, they were unsure of identity of the individual. Officials did state that the body was that of a male.
If anyone has any idea of the possible identity of this individual, contact the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department immediately.
