William Darrell (Dody) Cowan 78, of Clay, KY

WEBSTER COUNTY, KY - William Darrell (Dody) Cowan, 78, of Clay, KY passed away Tuesday August 14, 2012 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, KY.

He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and a Member of White Oak General Baptist Church in Clay, Ky. He was a coal miner where he worker at Pyro Mines

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Joyce Cowan in 2005.

Survivors include 1 daughter Patricia Whitledge of Clay, KY and 1 Son Bobby Lane Stevens of Sebree, KY. 5 Sisters Dorothy Jean Owens and Shirley Ferrell both of Sturgis, KY., Betty Rutherford and Faye Shoulders both of Clay, KY., and Janice Coffelt of Shelbyville, KY. 3 Brothers Jack Cowan and Rev. Ronald Cowan both of Clay, KY and Doug Cowan of Providence, KY 2 Granddaughters and 3 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday August 17, 2012 2:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, KY, with Bro. Rick Oakley officiating and Burial to follow in White Oak Cemetery in Clay, KY with military rites to be conducted at the grave.

Visitation will be Thursday August 16, 2012 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and Friday 8:00 AM til service time.

Memorial contributions may be made to White Oak Cemetery Fund, 3126 ST. RT. Hwy 143, Clay, KY 42404
