WEBSTER COUNTY, KY - Ruth McDowell Guinn, 91 of Providence passed away on Monday, Sept. 10 in Madisonville.

She was born on May 13, 1921 in Crittenden County to David and Eva McDowell. She attended schools in Providence and was married to Cecil Guinn on April 24, 1937 in Shawneetown. The family lived in Michigan for many years and returned to Providence in 1970. Her husband Cecil passed away in 1978.

Ruth was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Providence and enjoyed visiting her friends and reading. Her greatest joy was being a homemaker and taking care of her family.

She is survived by two daughters Phyllis and husband Robert Ask and Barbara and husband Jimmy Gardner and a son Gary Guinn all of Providence; Seven Grandchildren, Vickie, Pamela, Regena, Cindy, Michael, Jimmy and Misty; Eleven Great Grandchildren, Joshua, Julie, Justin, Elizabeth, Savannah, Christopher, Nichole, Destiny, Christian, Hunter and Tristan. Three Great Great Grandchildren, Hudson, Jaxon and Steven.

Ruth was also preceded in death by two siblings Margaret Mitchell and Buford Hardrick.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 2 PM at Jones & Erdman in Providence with Bro. Andy Corbin and Bro. Barry Cullen officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Crittenden County.

Visitation is on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM and from noon to service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
