Danny Franklin, 58, of Providence, KY

WEBSTER COUNTY, KY (12/12/12) – The Lord has called Danny Franklin home after a two and a half year battle with cancer. Danny was born August 3rd, 1954 in Providence, KY, the son of June Bollinger and Malcolm Franklin. He was the oldest of his three siblings, Marlene, Marilyn and step brother Scott. He was a graduate of Providence High School and attained additional education in electrical school and coal mine management and inspections.

 
He married the love of his life, Connie and they had two sons, Michael and David.
 
Danny was a hard worker and was loved and adored by many. He led by example everyday with his faithfulness, family values, and work ethic. He was in the coal mining industry for 40 years working for MAPCO, Alliance Coal, and MSHA.
 
Danny enjoyed basketball, traveling, water skiing and cherished time with his family.
 
He will be missed by many including his wife of 34½ years, Connie; children Michael (Constance) and David (Niki); four grandsons, Luke, Kyle, Reed and Decker; siblings Marlene (Stephen), Marilyn (Donnie), and Scott (Ann); parents, June Bolinger and Malcolm Franklin (Jan); nieces and nephews (Crystal, Bridgette, Nathan, Mandy); and additional relatives and friends.
 
All family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Thursday, December 13th at Smith Valley United Methodist Church – 5293 Old Smith Valley Rd, Greenwood, IN at 3:00 with a reception to follow at 4:00.
 
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital; stjude.org/donate.

G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch is handling the arrangements.
