Rudy M. Brown, 90 of Slaughters, KY

WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. - Rudy M. Brown, 90 of Slaughters, KY passed away at his home at 7:00 AM Saturday January 5, 2013.

He was born in Webster County, KY on November 17, 1922 to the late Clyde and Corean (Pate) Brown.

He was a retired Insurance Agent, Member of Slaughters United Methodist Church, and a WWII Army Veteran. He had also served on the Slaughters City Council for over 40 Years.

Preceded by Parents, Grandson Jarred Ashmore.

Survived by wife of 63 years, Geraldine (Oakley) Brown, 2 daughters, Lydia (Joe) Melton of Slaughters and Janet (Bobby) Shoulders of Slaughters; Sister, Joyce Sisk, Frankfort; 6 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren.

Service Monday, January 7th, 2013 at 10:00AM at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Hanson-Slaughters Chapel, officiated by Dr. David Blair and assisted by Chaplain Debra McBride.

Burial will be at Slaughters Cemetery, Slaughters, KY with full military rites by Hopkins County Honor Guard.

Visitation, Sunday, January 6th , 2013 from 3PM until 7PM and Monday 8:00 Am until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Bo Hackney, Jason Overby, Tim Melton, Terry Melton, Brandon Shoulders, Darren Spainhoward.

Honorary Pallbearers; Jarred Ashmore (In Memory), Don Winstead, Charles Ranes, Dorris Hobgood, Hugh David Blue, and Marion Lee.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Jarred Ashmore Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O Independence Bank, Sebree, KY. St. Anthony’s Hospice or Slaughters United Methodist Church.
