Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Muhlenberg County, this yearly event is usually held on Derby Day but this year, was moved to Monday evening.

Rotary Club Member, David Richey said that Derby Day was such a busy day for many restaurants that some said they wouldn’t be able make it if it was held on Derby Day.

At 5:30, David Richey welcomed everyone to the event and asked fellow Rotary Club member, Shannon Combs, to provide the invocation. After the “Call To Post”, Richey invited everyone to start visiting the 22 vendors whose booths were decorated around the theme of the Kentucky Derby, “Run For The Roses.” Some of the items offered for tasting included, pork loin, chicken salad, bruschetta, chicken wings, pizza, lasagna, sandwiches, strawberry pies, cookies, pasta salad, salads and coffee.

Richey said that funds raised from this event will help a variety of sources, including the 4-H Food for Kids Backpack Program.
