obitflowerWEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. - Margaret O. Martin, age 92, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 9:30 am, Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Redbanks Nursing Home.

Mrs. Martin was born outside of Morganfield in 1920 to Leslie David and Carrie Shelton Oakley. Starting at a young age Margaret was active in church. As a child she went to church Sunday morning by herself and then traveled by lantern Sunday night to a different church. IBT planted a church on Earl St. which later became Eastview Baptist Church. Her family became charter members and Margaret was the longest serving member. She served in many capacities including Sunday School Teacher, Girls in Action Leader, Vacation Bible School, participating in the senior adult group and the Women's Missionary Union. Margaret also opened her home to church visitors. She stayed active in the church until just last year at age 92. Margaret loved quilting and gardening. Not only did she love her grandchildren, but also welcomed their friends into her home. Many of them even called her Grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edward F. "Frank" Martin, daughter Patricia Greenfield, granddaughter Ann Mitchell, and two brothers Ishmael and James Oakley.

Survivors include:
1 Son: Kenneth Edward Martin and wife Pam
