2cloudsHENDERSON, Ky. - Philip Clayton Bender, 82 of Henderson, KY passed away 2:41 AM August 8, 2013 at Henderson Nursing and Rehab.

He was born May 31, 1931 in Mt. Carmel, IL to Clarence and Nina Bertha ( Kuehling) Bender.

He was a KY Colonel.

He was preceded by his parents, 1st wife Donna, 2nd wife Ruby, 3rd wife Betty, brother Delbert Bender, 2 grandchildren; Heath Kanipe and Heather Barger and step-daughter Brenda Jenkins.

He is survived by 8 children: Karen Ligon and husband Jerry, Steve Bender and wife Susie, Donnie Bender and wife Debbie, Darlene Alvey and husband Rich, Charlene Cates, Jeffery Bender and wife Regenia, Patrick Bender and wife Carla all of Henderson, Billy Bender and wife Theresa of Dixon; Step-daughter: Linda Cooper and husband Jim of TN; 26 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11:30 AM Saturday at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel.

Visitation will be 9:30AM-11:30AM Saturday at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel.

Brother Brad Harrison will officiate.

There will be a private burial at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Carmel., IL
