WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky - W.T. Watson, 92 of Poole, Ky passed away on Monday Dec. 2, 2013 at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson, Ky. He was a Farmer and one of the founding members of Southern States in Poole, Ky, he was an Avid UK Basketball Fan. He also was a WWII Army Veteran having received 5 Bronze Stars, a good conduct medal and a sharp shooter medal. He logged over 1800 combat miles while serving under General Patton. He was a member of the Poole Church of Christ in Poole, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Watson, brothers and sisters and one grandson Andrew Watson.
Survivors include 1 daughter Nancy McKnight of Nortonville, Ky; 2 sons Jack Watson and his wife Carole of Alamosa Colorado and Bob Watson and his wife Angie of Poole, Ky; 8 grandchildren Chris Watson, Matt Watson, Josh Watson, Ben Watson, Tim Watson, Russell McKnight, Luke Watson and Jesslyn Watson; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday Dec. 5, 2013, at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, Ky. Ministers Bill Doyle and Gary Puryear will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, Ky. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 5-8pm and from 8am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
