Relay 4 Life(Photo courtesy Muhlenberg Chapter American Cancer Society Relay For Life)POWDERLY, Ky. (3/12/14) — The Muhlenberg Chapter of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life will hold a Survivor's Banquet on Tuesday, March 18 at 6 p.m. at the Powderly Convention Center Inn.

Jacklyn Hafley, who has been involved in the Muhlenberg Relay for Life program for 14 years, told SurfKY News the event is a great way for cancer survivors to celebrate their recovery.

"We'll have a dinner for all of the Muhlenberg County cancer survivors and their families," Hafley said. "It's a great way to get together and celebrate another year, or as we call it, another birthday. We usually have guest speakers, singing, and at the end of the night, we celebrate with a cake and a candlelight service."

Hafley said the invitations have been sent out for the annual event.

"The members of our group are always finding out about new survivors we may not know about," Hafley said. "And there are also new cancer victims that we may not be aware of as well, so we hope that the community will help us to contact others we may not have on our list."
