Ground Breaking Ceremony Scheduled for Claybon Park

Madisonville Seal 01 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (4/9/14) — Mayor David Jackson and Judge-Executive Donnie Carroll invite the public to a ground breaking ceremony for the Claybon Spray Park.

The Dr. Festus T. Claybon Park is located at the corner of Hopewell and Elm Streets in Madisonville, Kentucky. The event is scheduled 11 a.m. Friday, April 11.

Students from Pride Avenue and Broadway Elementary Schools will join local dignitaries and major supporters in the ground breaking ceremony.

Dr. Festus T. Claybon Park opened in 1996. The park spans 19 acres and includes a half-mile paved walking trail, two outdoor basketball courts, ADA accessible playground, three outdoor picnic shelters, athletic field and public restrooms.

The Spray Park features have been ordered and construction is planned to begin in May, 2014.
