Streamlight Flashlights to Donate $3500 in Product to Madisonville Fire Department

travis manion found 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (6/13/14) — As a corporate sponsor of the Travis Manion Foundation’s 9/11 Heroes Run, Streamlight strives to payback service with service.

By providing support to select local Fire Departments that are partnered with the 9/11 Heroes Run, Streamlight aims to be a small catalyst that inspires local department members to take positive action in their communities.

The Madisonville Fire Department is one of only four other fire companies worldwide to receive a donation of specialized lighting tools that provide an added degree of safety to Firefighters. Because of MFD’s commitment to the 9/11 Heroes Run, the local race committee chose their agency to be the recipient of Streamlight’s donation of Knucklehead Spot, Fire/Rescue flashlights. In the coming weeks, Streamlight personnel will be hosting a presentation ceremony to the Madisonville Fire Department. The retail value of Madisonville’s 25 unit donation in total is $3580.

“The Madisonville 9/11 Heroes Run is honored to be able to partner with one of the corporate sponsors on such a generous donation to our Fire Department,” said Local Race Director, Kelly Forbes. “To be included with host locations like Annapolis, Maryland, Charleston, South Carolina and Tempe, Arizona is really exciting for our community.”

Last year, more than 700 people participated in the Madisonville 9/11 Heroes Run. $12,800 was invested back into the community. This year’s race proceeds will be split among the Travis Manion Foundation and the Patrick Rudd Project. The Patrick Rudd Project assists Hopkins County First Responder agencies and departments through Everyday Heroes mini grants for equipment and training.
