Muhlenberg Man Charged Drugs at Lake Malone

scotty-cobbDUNMOR, Ky. (6/16/14) — When a Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Deputy identified a wanted man at Lake Malone State Park campground Saturday, June 14, he also charged the man with possession of drugs that were discovered inside his keyring container.

According to a Muhlenberg Sheriff's Department press release, Deputy Brock Mefford saw Scotty Cobb, 36, of Greenville, who was wanted on a Hopkins County warrant for shoplifting. During the arrest, Mefford located a bag of suspected marijuana in Cobb's shirt and a container with Hydrocodone pills on Cobb's keychain.

Cobb was charged with possession of marijuana, second-degree possession of a controlled substance and prescription controlled substance not in original container.

He is being lodged in the Muhlenberg Detention Center.
