Rena Mae 'Granny' Hess, 90, of Providence

PROVIDENCE, Ky. – Rena Mae “Granny” Hess, 90, of Providence passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at her daughter’s home in Providence. She was born on July 11, 1924 in Caldwell County to James and Clora Mae Teague. She had worked for the Plastic Factory in Providence and retires from Speed Queen in 1990. She was a member of Concord General Baptist Church in Manitou, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lemon Richard Hess in 1994; three brothers, Floyd Teague, Raybert Teague, and James Teague.

Survivors include one daughter, Patsy Hess (Aubrey) Walker of Providence; one granddaughter Shana Walker (Wayne) Alfred of Providence; one great granddaughter Callie Nicole Alfred of Providence; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Jones Funeral Home in Providence with Rev. Eddie Fleming, Bro. Alan Alfred, and Bro. Chris Alfred officiating. Visitation will be at 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 2nd, 2014. Burial will be at Prospect Cemetery in Dalton Kentucky.

Pallbearers will be David Teague, Raymon Teague, Ricky Hess, Robert Teague, Wayne Alfred, and Alan Teague.
