Students Chosen to Serve on KCTCS Board

kctcs glossy 300HENDERSON, Ky. (8/10/14) — Tiffany Quinlan of Hazard Community and Technical College and Ebenezer Yankey of Henderson Community College will serve one-year terms on the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regents.

The two were selected by 15 college student body presidents as KCTCS student body co-presidents and student regents. Their terms begin August 2014 and continue through August 2015.

Quinlan lives in Hazard and is pursuing an associate degree at HCTC. She was elected the 2014-15 HCTC Student Government Association president. Her other activities include the Campus Environment Team, Diversity Gay/Straight Alliance, Phi Theta Kappa, Fellowship (Christian student organization) and the Community Ministries Board. She plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in secondary education with an English major.

Yankey lives in Morganfield and is pursuing an associate degree at HCC. He was elected the 2014-15 SGA president at HCC. His other activities include the Multi-Cultural Alliance, the Academic Team and Job Corps. After receiving a degree from HCC, Yankey plans to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a bachelor's degree, and later attend medical school to study neurosurgery.
