Donald Edwin Simpson, 74, of Onton, Ky.

ONTON, Ky. – Donald Edwin Simpson, 74, of Onton, Ky. passed away Saturday August 16, 2014 at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Ky.

He was born in Onton, Ky. on August 11, 1940 to the late William Earl “Junior” Simpson, Jr., and Ruth Cheryl (Chamberlain) Simpson.

He was a member of Onton United Methodist Church. Donald was a Navy veteran having served at Barbers Point Naval Air Station in Oahu, Hawaii where he met his wife Norma. He retired from KB Alloys after 21 years had formerly worked for L&N Railroad and farmed. He had become an avid woodworker after his retirement.

Donald is survived by his wife, Norma (Jubitz) Simpson; daughter Jennifer Young and husband Mike of Murray, Ky.; two granddaughters, Kaytlin Young of Houston, Texas and Kelsey Young of Murray, Ky.; brother Eric Simpson and wife Kitty of Slaughters, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 23, 2014 at Onton United Methodist Church. Rev. Donnie House will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 until service time at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Webster County Library, P.O. Box 420, Dixon, Ky. 42409.
