Henderson County Traffic Advisory

kentucky trans yellow 300HENDERSON, Ky. (9/3/14) — A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close the existing ramps at the Breathitt-Pennyrile Parkway/ Kentucky 416 Exit 68 Interchange in Henderson County on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 5 and 6, 2014.

The existing southbound exit ramp and existing northbound entry ramp at the Kentucky 416 Niagara/Robards Interchange with the Pennyrile will be closed during daylight hours Friday and Saturday to allow new asphalt to be placed on the widened ramps.

Message boards placed around the interchange will alert motorists that they should self-detour via Kentucky 425 and Kentucky 56 to access US 41 to connect with Kentucky 416.

The ramp closure is expected to be in place from 7 a.m., CDT, to about 4 p.m., each day. In case of rain on Friday or Saturday there will be a closure on Monday, Sept. 8.

This is part of ongoing construction that includes adding new ramps to create a full interchange for Kentucky 416.

Hazex Construction is the prime contractor on this $4.9 million highway improvement project aimed at helping extend I-69 up the Pennyrile. The Kentucky 416 Interchange completion date is Oct. 15, 2014.
