James Howard Brooks, 73, Slaughters

 

treesunSLAUGHTERS, KY - James Howard Brooks, 73, Slaughters, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at his home.

He was a retired coal miner and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He also was a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Slaughters.

Survivors include his wife, Violet Ipock Brooks of Slaughters; four sons, Rodney Brooks of Slaughters, Roger Brooks of Clay, John Ipock and Barry Ipock, both of Providence; three daughters, Loretta Elder of Providence, Ann Quinn and Debbie McIntyre, both of Jasper, Ala.; one brother, Gerald Brooks of Slaughters; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Slaughters.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
