Torris Powell Jr. 41 of Providence

 

PROVIDENCE, KY - Torris Powell Jr. 41 of Providence passed away on Saturday, Jan 21 in Maryland.

He was born on June 29, 1970 in Madisonville to Torris and Mary Powell. Torris graduated from Providence high school and attended Murray State.

Survivors include three sons, D’marcus Powell serving in the army in Afganistan, LaTroy Powell of Frankfort, Ky and Christian Powell in Florida. One daughter Kourtney Powell serving in the navy in Nevada, a step daughter Viannie Morgan of Maryland a granddaughter Cheanel in Germany, his parents Torris and Mary Powell of Providence, two brothers Terry and Demetrius Powell of Providence, a sister Tena Louise Gaither of Illinois, his grandmothers Myrtle Adams of Madisonville and Effie Mae Powell of Providence and many other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28 at 1 PM at Simpson Chapel, Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Providence with Rev. Bobby Hawkins officiating.

Interment will be in Williams Lawn Cemetery in Providence.  Visitation is on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Jones & Erdman in Providence and 9 AM to service time on Saturday at the church.
