FRANKFORT, KY (2/8/12) – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Designs Direct of Covington, KY, has announced a voluntary recall of Living Traditions 21-inch Rooster Lamps.
The lamps were sold exclusively at Fred’s stores on a nationwide level between October and November 2011, sold at around $20.00 each. The brown poly-resin lamps have an off-white shade and a carved 9-inch rooster affixed to the base. A label on the underside of the base reads "Distributed by Fred's Inc." and "SKU 61589."
The issue with this product is that the electrical cord can fray near the base of the lamp, therefore posing a potential fire or shock hazard. As of yet, no injuries have been reported.
Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
For more information, contact Designs Direct toll-free at (888) 770-7062 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or visit the firm's website at www.regcen.com/roosterlamp
